Mrs Taylor's cockapoo Rusty!  You may not know that Mrs Taylor's dog was nearly famous - we asked Mrs Taylor to give us a little background.  Scroll down to find out more....

On arrival there were a variety of different breeds of dogs and in his audition Rusty had to do various things to prove he wasn’t frighted of loud music, crowds of people and needed to show he could follow instructions.  A large number of people commented on his calm, placid temperament and how well behaved he was. Other dogs who auditioned with us had performed before so we didn’t except to get anything.  However, the same day we were informed he’d been chosen as the reserve dog.   How proud of Rusty were we??  ðŸ¤©ðŸ¤©. Even though Rusty was the reserve he had to attend a large number of the rehearsals and he loved all the attention from the adult  and child actors, dancers and the director. None of the fuss, music or rehearsals phased him.  In fact on one occasion during rehearsals Rusty fell asleep laid next to the piano whilst  it was being played extremely loudly. Chilled out.  Attention loving Rusty was photographed by the  director and  a small piece was written about him for the programme.  It said the following:

Rusty our 11 month old cockapoo whose mum’s a cockapoo and dad an apricot miniature poodle.  He’s full of energy with a fantastic temperament who enjoys going on plenty walks, runs for miles, loves meeting other dogs and playing chase with them. Very sociable and adores attention/company of humans and is great with children. Hardly barks. Very obedient, extremely clever but what a fussy eater.

Unfortunately,  just before the first show on Tuesday 26 February was about to go ahead, the council stopped any live animal performance at the theatre in Rotherham. We were gutted and very disappointed, but what a fantastic experience Rusty had.  Scroll down to watch Rusty in rehearsals:
