5 Ideas to stay Happy and Healthy during

the Lockdown 😊

Exercise!

Now is a better time than ever to get fit with so much spare time! There are loads of free fitness videos out there on you tube. I am personally using the ‘couch to 5K’ app which is amazing to get into running and straightforward to use (all you need are your trainers)! Not only does exercise help you get fit it also releases endorphins into your body which makes you feel happy and helps to relieve stress. I am by no means a runner but I am enjoying getting out the house and working towards something new! Charlie, my springer spaniel, is enjoying the extra runs!

Baking!

Try baking something new that you have never tried! Now is a great time to get creative with cooking and try new things, set yourself a goal of something you have never tried before, you might discover a new favourite food. I’ve been busy baking this week and made some lovely cookies however have discovered that I am not very good at homemade curry and am hoping that when I try paella it will be a bit more successful- fingers crossed!

Binge Watching!

As much as trying to stay active is great, a good amount of binge-watching is also 100% necessary. Netflix added Season 6 of Brooklyn 99 last week and I have happily binged that season and would recommend it as a hilarious family show to watch. Disney + has also been a blessing and I have (finally) started watching the marvel movies in order and I am loving it so far I think I might be turning into a marvel nerd! Sometimes there is nothing better than to sit in front of the tele with a cup of tea and binge watch your favourite series! Re watching many series’ and films has definitely been a highlight of lockdown so far. I would recommend Gilmore Girls, Brooklyn 99 and friends.

Facetiming Friends!

Setting up group calls with your friends is so fun and a great way to instil some normality into our lives with everything that is going on! I group called my friends last week and it’s a great way to catch up and see what everyone is doing to stay busy in lockdown.(Some great apps include; Zoom, Skype, House party and I’m sure there are many more!)

Learn something new!

It is a great time to learn something new. I have recently started playing the flute again after a few years and I am really enjoying it! A few other ideas could be learning a new language (the app duolingo is great for this ), learning how to do a handstand or just becoming better at drawing or painting!
